Renowned Ismaili Scholar Al-Waiz Fida Ali Eisar Passes Away

Notably, renowned Ismaili scholar and Al-Waiz Wazir Fida Ali Eisar has been mourned by communities across the region, according to family sources. The news has deeply saddened the Ismaili community of Gilgit-Baltistan and beyond, who knew and respected him as a scholar, preacher, and lifelong servant of the faith.
Who Was Al-Waiz Fida Ali Eisar
Al-Waiz Fida Ali Eisar was a well-known Ismaili scholar and preacher who spent decades in religious teaching and community guidance. He was the author of multiple books, through which he shared his knowledge and understanding of faith with generations of readers.
His work went beyond scholarship.He worked throughout his life to promote interfaith harmony, religious understanding, and social cohesion across Gilgit-Baltistan, helping build bridges between different communities and sects in the region.
An Honour From the Imam of the Time
In recognition of his exceptional services to the community, the late Aga Khan IV, the 49th hereditary Imam of the Ismaili Muslims, had conferred upon him the honorary title of “Wazir.” The title stood as a lasting acknowledgment of a life devoted to faith, learning, and community service.
A Community in Mourning
News of his passing has spread quickly through the Ismaili community, bringing with it a deep sense of loss. Throughout his service, Al-Waiz Fida Ali Eisar became more than a scholar for many; he served as a guide and a trusted voice whose teachings shaped the religious and social life of the region for years.
Funeral Arrangements
The family said they will bring his body to Gilgit for burial. They will offer his funeral prayer at the Shah Karim Hostel ground in Konodas, Gilgit, on September 8 at around 4 p.m
