Gilgit-Baltistan Government Strengthens Wildlife Conservation Through Community Support

GB Trophy Hunting Revenue Distribution The Government of Gilgit-Baltistan has strengthened wildlife conservation efforts. As a result the government shared trophy hunting revenue with local conservation committees. Meanwhile cheif Minister Amjad Hussain distributed PKR 240 million in cheques during the ceremony.

Chief Minister Praises Community Conservation Efforts

Chief Minister Amjad Hussain highly appreciated the role of conservation committees. The Chief Minister recognized and praised the conservation committees for their contribution to wildlife protection. In addition he mention the strong community participation.The CM encouraged continued cooperation to strengthen future conservation efforts.

Moreover, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of wildlife during the ceremony. He recommended modern conservation methods to improve wildlife protection. He said traditional approaches were no longer sufficient. He also encouraged stakeholders to adopt new strategies for long-term conservation success.

Chief Minister Acknowledges IUCN’s Role

The Chief Minister acknowledged the role of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). He appreciated the organization’s support in introducing community conservation committees. He described the model as highly successful. He also encouraged other sectors to adopt similar community-based programs.

Government Promotes Local Community Participation

The Chief Minister strongly supported greater community participation. Meanwhile, he discussed the minerals sector and highlighted its importance. He said local involvement would deliver better outcomes. At the same time, he stressed that protecting community rights must remain a top priority.

The Chief Minister said sustainable development requires local cooperation. According to him, fair participation is essential for lasting progress.

Government Plans to Increase Trophy Hunting Licenses

The government announced plans to increase trophy hunting licenses. The government promised to take practical steps for future implementation. It expects responsible wildlife management to generate higher revenue. The initiative will also deliver greater benefits to local communities.

Forest and Wildlife Department Receives Government Support

The Chief Minister praised the Forest and Wildlife Department for its important work. He highlighted the department’s role in protecting biodiversity. He described Raja Nasir Ali Khan as a capable minister. He expressed confidence that the department would perform even better under his leadership.
